Bogie hearth furnaces for heating semi-finished steel products (ingots, semi-finished, products of various shapes and sizes).
The maximum operating temperature is 1,250 ° C which can be reached through heating and / or cooling ramps created by means of customizable gradients suitable for the type of treatment to be carried out, in compliance with the required performances.
Heating usually takes place by means of self-recuperative or cold air burners in order to obtain excellent results in terms of temperature uniformity.
The insulating lining provided is specifically designed to ensure optimal performance of the furnace and can be made with refractory or fibrous material depending on the operating temperature and the required process characteristics.
Peculiarities of the bogie hearth furnace
Peculiarity of this type of furnace is the moving sole, composed of a sturdy metal structure and mainly refractory material capable of supporting the loads at stake, all supported in turn by two or more rows of wheels that run on rails fixed to the floor.
The movement takes place by means of a rack and pinion system with a gearmotor of suitable size under inverter. The furnace and the moving base structures are designed and coupled to ensure a perfect seal between the two during the coupling phase.
The seal between the moving sole and the kiln structure can in fact be achieved in different ways; the most common include moving sand seals and gravity sealing.
Automation guarantees control of the entire process, interfacing with the company supervisor.
This type of system is designed and built to comply with the regulatory standards and the class of belonging of the furnace that the Customer requires (API – ASTM – AMS – NADCAP – NORSOK).
Bogie hearth furnace for heat treatment on air and nitrogen.
ICMI tailor made engineering allowed to realize a furnace, with heat treatment that normally is done with bell furnace in an area with reduced height space.
This kind of kiln allow to realize all types of heat treatment on every kind of alloy till the temperature of 800°C both in air and with nitrogen reducing the metal decarburization.
Furthermore, thanks to the use of the mobile bogie, it is possible to insert different shapes and sizes products (i.e.: shafts, connecting rods, discs, coils).
With the use of the diffusers, the furnace is able to have perfect temperature uniformity in the different zones and take the advantage of the exhaust gases with the recuperators, considerably reducing the energy consumption.
Last but not least, in case of incomplete filling, with appropriate separators it is possible to partition the chamber to perform treatment in areas where there is the presence of material.
